Sauk Centre UMC Protocols for Resuming Worship Indoors

We are following the protocols as set forth by the MN Department of Health, our Bishop and state government.  We will begin worshiping in the sanctuary Sunday, September 6, 2020, following the protocols below.

1. We will not exceed 50% of our sanctuary capacity in any one service.

2. We will maintain a distance of 6 feet between individuals and family units when entering, sitting in and exiting the building.

3.  We will wear masks while in the building.  If you don’t have one, a mask will be supplied.

4. Ushers will direct all worshipers to their seats to ensure proper spacing and flow of people.  Ushers will dismiss people row by row after the service is over.

5.  Doors will be propped open to minimize touching.

6.  There will be a table in the gathering space with bulletins, masks, hand sanitizer and a place for your offering. Prepackaged Communion elements will also be on this table on Communion Sundays.

7.  The worship service will be different from before. We will have shorter services to minimize the risk of time spent in an enclosed space.  We will not be singing.  You are welcome to hum to the music or read the words of the hymn as you listen.  We will not be passing the offering plates during worship.  You may leave your offering in the plates on the table in the gathering space as you enter or leave the building.

8.  Coffee and prepackaged snacks will be available after worship outdoors, weather permitting.

9. We will take attendance each Sunday for a record of attendance and for Covid-19 contact tracing if needed.

10. We will continue to record the worship service and post it online for those who are not able to join us in the sanctuary.
